UPLOADING
TO WEB SPACE
This PixMatrix
Help movie will show you how to post your customized web page to your web
space. Press the ‘Upload to web’ button to begin this process.
Before you
transfer your page to your web space you will need to create a bookmark. You
will only have to do this once after installing PixMatrix. Select your
Internet service provider (ISP) from the list, then press the ‘Next’ button.
Create a name for your bookmark. After selecting ‘Next’ enter your e-mail
address in the window that appears. Type in the password used when
checking your e-mail, then again to confirm it and press ‘Next’. Press
‘OK’ to complete the process.
The window for
the ‘Upload to web’ step provides information on your computer files, web
space and session log. These windows are used for managing your web
space and will be discussed in a moment.

Quick post
To upload your
page to the web, press the ‘Quick post’ button. You are then asked to
specify into which web folder you would like for your newly created web page
to appear. Specifying a folder name is useful for organization of your web
space. Leave this location blank to upload the web page to the main web
folder. Press ‘OK’ to begin the transfer of your web page from your
computer to your web space. A progress indicator will show the remaining
upload time. When this process is complete, you can then move into the
final phase of customizing, posting, and using your web page by pressing
‘OK’ in the text box that appears then selecting the ‘Use page’ button.

Managing your web space
You will
occasionally want to delete or retrieve images from your web space. This is
accomplish using the ‘Manage your web space’ buttons.

Connect to Internet
When you press
the ‘Connect’ button, your web space folders will appear in the lower left
box under ‘Web space’. When you single click on a folder, the
folder contents will appear in the box to the right.

Transfer to your computer
It is possible
to move files from your web space to your computer. Use the space
under ‘Your computer’
to navigate to the location where you would like the file to be
transferred. Simply highlight the file to be transferred and press the
‘Transfer to your computer’ button. This transfers a copy of the selected
file onto your computer but does not delete it from your web space.

Delete
from web space
To delete a
file from your web space, single click on the file you want to delete and
press the ‘Delete from web space’ button. A new window will appear asking
for confirmation of this step. Select the appropriate button to close the
window.

Stop web space connection
By pressing the ‘Stop’ button
found under ‘Manage your web space’, you may abort any web space operation
including ‘Quick post’.

Disconnect from web space
Also found in
this area is the ‘Disconnect’ button which allows you to disconnect from
your web space. Use this button when you are finished managing your web
space.

Session Log
Should an error
occur during the process of managing your web space or when doing a ‘Quick
post’, the session log will provide information on why the error occurred.
For some ISP's, the session log will also provide
useful information about your web space such as how much disc space is
available in your account.
