       TIPS FOR PAGE DESIGN

Some of the templates contain empty cells stretching down the left side of the table.  This is to ensure that if the template is viewed on a smaller monitor or in a higher resolution that the background design running down the left side of the screen will not be obscured by text or images.  This will work only if the original table is not made larger by manually resizing it.  It is recommended that this empty column be left blank.

Many people on the Internet are using a display resolution of 800x600 pixels.  PixMatrix templates are designed with this in mind. Note that by increasing the width of a template table, the user will be forced to scroll to the right to view the entire page.  As a general rule, if your picture starts to push the boundary of its containment region, you should ensure your page is visible in its entirely before posting to the Internet.  You can verify your page is perfect for 800X600 resolution users by setting your display resolution to 800x600 and previewing the page in your browser or by using a pixel measuring program.

Web pages can look different on various computers due to variability of browser settings and computer software.  Appearances of font size and type, colors, and spacing are dependent upon the display resolution, size of the browser window, and the type of computer graphics card used in the computer.  Web pages may change their appearance based upon a set of input conditions that are outside the control of the page creator.  PixMatrix templates are table-based in order to minimize these differences but some change should be expected.

Download times can vary depending upon the size of the web page being viewed and the type of Internet connection used for the download.  PixMatrix provides a download counter, located in the upper right corner of title bar, which approximates download times based upon connection methods.  Images typically take longer to download than text and larger images take longer than smaller ones.  You may adjust download times by changing the image size or compression found by pressing the ‘Modify image’ button in the ‘Add image’ step.
